Elizabeth Leister

From an interview with her prior to her exhibition at Counterpath:

My project, an exhibition and a performance, for Counterpath is titled, “Strange Loop.” During the performance on May 17th I will be cutting a bobius strip covered with drawings and text—a list of all of the places that I have been to as far as I have been able to remember. A large drawing that loosely “maps” out these various places according to my memory is part of the performance and the exhibition. Additionally, I will be projecting a new video that incorporates images from a trip to Iceland, exploring the impact of place on our personal and collective memory. Small paintings on paper will also be shown.
